For Youth, By Youth

Empowering youth and young adults to be part of the discussion - and offer solutions - on the issues that impact them.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, an alarming number of young people are struggling with feelings of helplessness, depression, and even thoughts of suicide. In trying to address this situation, those in power have sometimes not heard from the people who can provide the best insights into this crisis - the youth themselves.

That’s why The Reilly Group (TRG) provides a program that helps communities, school districts, colleges, and more elevate the voices of youth.

Our youth-led services help students organize timely conferences, forums, town halls, and other events where teens and young adults can take the lead. In addition to providing the organizational support they need to hold these gatherings,  our efforts also connect youth with existing resources they might not be aware of, further driving positive outcomes.

The Process

The Reilly Group helps teens and young adults with all aspects of creating and staging their gathering including:

  • Developing a theme for the conference, forum, town hall, or event.

  • Guiding youth in the agenda creation of the event.

  • Determining how to make the event engaging and fun for attendees.

  • Helping youth create easy, tangible ways to address or advance the issue at hand.

  • Helping youth identify and invite experts or influencers to present at the event.

  • Facilitating promotion of the conference, forum or town hall.

  • Coaching the youth presenters and holding rehearsals, so they feel comfortable and confident on the big day.

  • Solicit opinions of participants on the success of the event.

  • Prepare a report with the outcomes of the event.
