John McKenzie

Contracts and Fiscal Management Director, The Reilly Group, Inc. 

John McKenzie is a financial and operations management professional with over 20 years of experience with budgets, contracts and grants, complex education and training programs, and cross-functional operations units across a variety of nonprofits. His most recent experience at a prestigious research university has included managing multi-million dollar sponsored projects from a wide array of agencies and organizations such as the CDC, NIH, cancer care associations, and large pharmaceutical companies. 

Detail-oriented and committed to quality and accuracy, John is adept at communicating with diverse audiences, developing creative solutions to problems, and has a history of team-building and results-driven leadership. He has put together over 100 training programs in the healthcare and pharmaceutical arena, reviewed more than 500 contracts, created budget tracking systems and forecasting tools to manage 50+ grants, and spearheaded institution-wide initiatives to improve efficiencies and processes.

John grew up in a small Kansas town, but has lived in the Washington, DC area for the past 20 years. He holds both Master and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Geography from Kansas State University. He served two years in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan where he taught English to elementary and high school students. He is passionate about travel and has visited over 50 countries across 6 continents thus far.
