Nima Sheth, MD, MPH

Nima Sheth, MD, MPH serves as the Director of Policy and Networks at The Reilly Group and leads the Mind the Gap Initiative including its National Coalition and State Policy Series focused on advancing perinatal mental health policy, education, and advocacy.

Dr. Sheth is a senior organizational leader and strategic thinker who has served in high-level leadership positions within the federal government and major international organizations. She has extensive experience leading strategic planning initiatives, developing policy, and designing and implementing large-scale national projects at the intersection of women and children, mental health and health systems, immigration, workforce, and policy.

She recently served (2020-2025) as the Associate Administrator for Women’s Services at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Senior Medical Advisor in the office of the director at the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). She created and oversaw, for example, the implementation of six new multi-million dollar grants and contracts to help address critical gaps in the field, including programs focused on children and social media, women’s health, mental health, and the first national center of its kind focused on change management. Dr. Sheth also led the center’s strategic vision for developing and improving all 39 technical assistance grants and contracts, which required assessment of gaps in the field, coordination across multiple health and policy sectors, and senior-level project management.
